The Lajee Center has recently renovated its Activities Room with the generous support of theBarakat family which is now residing in Moorpark, California.
In order to make the room more suitable for different activities including sports, culture or arts, a new sound system has been implemented in the room for the music and dancing activities which are all a reflection of Palestinian heritage and history. An air-conditioner has also been installed, and the windows were insulated to stop leakage of toxic teargas to secure a clean safe environment for the children, since teargas is usually thrown by Israeli Forces in the camp in intense amounts.
In addition, a television, projector and display screen was added to the room in order to play programs and films for the members of the center.
A photography gallery was also installed to display photos from Palestine, including photos of the Barakat family which is originally from Haifa city and Anabta village near Tulkarm.
A suitable lighting and sound isolation system were also insured to have good workshops.
For all of that, the children, administration, staff and supporters of Lajee center extend the most sincere thanks to the Barakat family, presented by Mr. Imad and his wife, the late Mrs. Rihab Barakat, Mr. Abdul-Rahman and Mrs. Amani Barakat in renovating the activities room in Lajee center.
